Even On the Hard Days

What can you do when you know that a hard day is coming? How do you manage to survive this day?

Anniversary. Is it still considered an anniversary when you are separated?

That question has been plaguing me lately.

The Lord is with you

You see, as of May 20th, we will be married for 33 years. However, T is no longer living with me. And the last time I spoke to him, he said that it is not his plan to come back.

So, is it still an anniversary? Well, in my opinion, yes, it is. It is still the anniversary of the day that we said our vows before God. We may not celebrate, but it is still an anniversary.

Okay, so now, I am left with the question of how I will "best" get through this day. How do I manage to survive a day that I know is going to be hard for me?

I will thank the Lord for blessing me with another day.
I will thank Him for each breath that He allows me to take.
I will then pull myself up out of bed and attempt to make the bed.
I will get dressed, in something nice, in hopes of making myself feel pretty.
I will spend time with the Lord.
I will allow myself some comfort food.
I will even eat a gluten free brownie in a cup.
I will find a funny movie to watch that might help take my mind off of things.
When sadness hits, as I know that it will, I will allow myself to cry.

No matter what, I will continue to put one foot in front of the other. It might be tiny, baby steps that I am taking, but with the Lord's help, I will keep moving.

He holds your right hand

What can you do when you know that a hard day is coming?

1. Splurge a little and buy yourself some flowers
2. Go shopping for something that makes you feel pretty
3. Treat yourself to a mani/pedi
4. Find a movie, that interests you, and watch it
5. Have a nice meal
6. Invite your friends over and have girl time

Remember that, no matter how hard the day might be, you are not alone. The Lord is there with you. He is holding you by your right hand.

Psalm 73:23-24 NIV

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.  You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.

Father in heaven, thank You for always being with me. No matter how hard things might get, I know that You are there. Thank You, Father, for helping me to continue to move forward. Thank for holding me by my right hand and guiding me with Your counsel. Thank You for the promise that You will carry me into glory (Psalm 73:23-24). In Jesus' name, Amen.
