S:

3 John 1:11 NIV

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

O:

1. Do not imitate evil

For Gaius, this warning was Diotrephes who was in authority at the church

2. Imitate what is good

For Gaius, this person was Demetrius who was very well spoken of by everyone

3. Anyone that does good is from God

This represents anyone who is born of God

4. Anyone that does evil has not seen God

This means that the person does not know God spiritually

A:

Do not follow evil even when the person is someone that is in authority.
Follow what is good; what is of God.

Prayer:

Dear Father,

I pray that You will help me not to imitate what is evil but to follow what is good. I know that by doing good and following what is good is from You. Help me to follow what is good and what is of You. Help me to reject what is evil ( 3 John 1:11 ). In Jesus' name,
