Slow Down & Breathe

Are you looking for rest and quietness? Do you need help to carry that heavy load?

Our lives can become hectic in a hurry. The kids demand our attention, so we are pulled in their direction. The husband needs help finding something, so we are pulled in his direction. Then the dog tears up something and we are pulled in that direction.





Whew, I am stressed just typing that. Sadly, though, that is true. We allow ourselves to be pulled in so many different directions.





I want to encourage you to slow down. Take a deep breath. Slowly let that breath go.





Now we are going to look at Isaiah 30:15 to discover how we can find our rest and our quietness.

Isaiah 30:15 NIV 






This is what the Sovereign Lord , the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.




What this verse seems to be saying is that when I am repentant, I will find rest. When my trust is in the Lord, I will find quietness.





I know that I can offer my sins, my guilt, up to the Lord, who gladly carries the burden. Once I unburden myself, I will be able to find rest and quietness.





Prayer: 





Dear Father, 





Please help me to be repentant and find rest in my salvation. Help me to trust in You so I will find quietness ( Isaiah 30:15 ). Thank You for all that You do. In Jesus' name, Amen.
