Hope Of Rest

Are you distressed and weary? Do you long for somewhere peaceful to just rest?

In Psalm 55:6, we learn how watching a bird fly can give us hope of rest.

Psalm 55:6 NIV

I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.

In this verse, David is in distress. He was weary and living in fear. He longed to escape the harsh challenges that he was dealing with an to fly away and be at rest.

In reality, don't we all long to put aside stressful activities to fly somewhere peaceful and just rest?

I know that I am not the only one :).

Prayer:

Dear Father,

I pray that You will grant me the strength necessary to handle the challenges before me. Thank You for blessing me with these challenges, Father. Thank You for blessing me with glimpses of the dove. As I watch it fly, it gives me hope of being able to rest. In Jesus' name, Amen.
