I grabbed my phone and zoomed in as close as I could and recorded it, but sadly enough, it came out grainy. Then I looked the bird up. Turns out that I was right. It is a "type" of woodpecker. It is a Northern Flicker. They like to eat ants and peck at the ground to get to them. I am so excited that I figured that out. And all by myself too.
Birdwatching is a hobby that Tim and I are venturing into now that we are on the verge of being empty nesters. We decided that we need a hobby and I chose this activity.
Below is the verse that I studied this afternoon.
*******************************
Romans 12:11 NIV Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
TLB Never be lazy in your work, butserve the Lord enthusiastically.
CEV Never give up. Eagerly follow the Holy Spirit and serve the Lord.
NLT Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.
My thoughts:
Don't be lazy, don't lag behind, don't lack your zeal, don't be like a sloth. Work hard and be excited in serving the Lord.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank You for all that You have done for me and my family. Thank You for blessing me with tasks that I need to take care of every day. These tasks that I can do as a way of serving You by serving others. Please forgive me for the times that I am lazy or that I have lost my zeal. I praise Your name. I pray that Your will be done. In Jesus' name. Amen.
