Persevere and Endure

Show of hands, how many people are happy to finally see the tail end of 2020? How has the Lord blessed You, this past year? What has been something that you have struggled with?

I feel so blessed to say that between T and myself, we have been through 3 surgeries, this year. We not only had the surgeries, but we have healed or we are in the process of healing.

I feel blessed because I know that all of my children are safe. Yes, one of them suffered a very low point, but he has moved beyond that. I give praise to Jesus for answering my prayers and for keeping him safe.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Moving into 2021, I am going to be "slow and steady". I will continue to blog, however, my posts are going to be very basic. I just feel the need to get back to the heart of the matter (for myself) and that is to blog when I feel I have something to blog about. I will not spend extra time on images. It is just too much for me.

My fb posts will also be "slow and steady". I will post something when I feel lead to post.

Do you have a habit of praying when you go to bed? I have had a lot of things on my heart lately, my marriage, my children, not catching covid, whether or not to keep blogging, along with other things.

Have you ever woken up with a verse (or verses) that the Lord has spoken to you? I woke up recently with Hebrews 12:1-3 going through my mind.

Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

When you read over those verses, what words speak to you the most?

The ones that really jump out at me (and it may be different for you depending on what the Lord is revealing to you):

Do not be hindered
Do not be entangled
Focus on Jesus
Persevere
Endure
Do not grow weary
Do not lose heart

Prayer:

Father, I praise You so much. I come to You now asking that You will forgive me for living my life being hindered and entangled by sin. I need to ask for Your help to let these things go; to put them aside. Help me in my efforts to do better. Father, I thank You for supplying all of my needs. Thank You for always being with me. I pray that You will help me to always stay focused on You. I pray that You will help me to persevere, to endure. Help me not to grow weary or lose heart as I work to follow my path; the path You have set before me. Thank You for all that You do. In Jesus' name, Amen.

P.S.

I am including a free printable for you.

Blessings,
