Rest Content

Fear....

I grew up in a house where I learned to walk on eggshells around my dad. I lived in fear of doing something that would set him off.

In Proverbs 19:23, we are told that the fear of the Lord leads to life and rest. However, this fear, is not the same fear that I learned because of my dad. With this fear, we are to be in awe of Him and His wonder and everything that He has done.

Let's break this verse down to see how our awe of the Lord keeps us safe as we rest.

Proverbs 19:23 NIV

The fear of the Lord leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble.

Fear of the Lord

1. Leads to life

2. Helps you to rest content

3. Keeps you untouched by trouble

Prayer:

Dear Father,

Please help me to live in fear of You, Lord. I know that to fear You leads to life. To fear You means that I can rest content. To fear You means that I will be untouched by trouble ( Proverbs 19:23 ). In Jesus' name, Amen.

Please help ______ to live in fear of You, because ______ knows that to fear You leads to life. To fear You means that ______ can rest content. To fear You means that ______ will be untouched by trouble ( Proverbs 19:23 ). In Jesus' name, Amen.
