Where Do You Put Your Hope?

How do you manage through things when you feel overwhelmed? Where do you put your hope?

I am having a hard time. I am really struggling with depression. Everything just feels so overwhelming for me.

I have had a doctor's appointment each week for about 3 weeks now. It would be one thing if it were the same doctor every time, but that is not the case. Each time, it is a new doctor. This means that I have to go in to detail explaining things about my medical issues.

101 Questions

I just went to an appointment with a gastroenterologist. I answered 101 questions. Now, I have an appointment for a colonoscopy, but will also be getting an endoscopy done at the same time. Luckily, I will be put to sleep, so hopefully, I will not know a thing.

The next step will be to look at my gallbladder.

Normal Life Struggles

All of that is enough to make me feel overwhelmed, but you throw in normal life struggles and, well.

The past couple of weeks, I have been trying to do a little more cleaning, around the house. I can only afford to apply about 10 minutes of my time before I need to take a break. Honestly, that is not an exaggeration.

Now, after a couple of weeks, I guess I had hoped to start receiving help in keeping things clean. So, when I attempt to clean a new area, I worry how long it will be before it is a mess again.

Since there are three of us living here, when I do not receive more help with things, I start to feel taken for granted, overlooked, like I do not matter.

Depression is such a hard thing to live with. Most days, it takes everything I have within me to pull myself out of bed in the mornings. Once I am up, it takes everything within me to keep from going back to bed.

Focus On The Blessings

I am trying hard to find positive things to focus on. Blessings are being revealed every day. I only need to stop and look for them.

Psalm 39:7 NIV

“But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.

-- other translations --

Psalm 39:7 NIRV

"Lord, what can I look forward to now? You are the only hope I have.

Psalm 39:7 NLT

And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.

Prayer:

Dear Father,

When things are dark and overwhelming, Lord, where do I place my hope? My only hope is in You ( Psalm 39:7 ). Thank You for all that You do. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pain Is A 4 Letter Word

Bible Reading Plan, Pain

Find The Joy

How do you manage through things when you feel overwhelmed?
Where do you put your hope?
How can I pray for you today?
If you will allow it, I will be happy to help carry your load.
