Easy To Use Bible Study Method

Are you looking for an easy to use Bible Study method? Something that you might stick with?

If you look around enough, you are going to find A LOT of study methods. The point is..... find the one that works for you.

Today, I am sharing a bit about the SOAP Study Method. I feel that it is very easy to use.

How To Do A SOAP Study

S is for Scripture. You read your daily bible verses and pay close attention to any that really catches your attention. If something catches your attention, write it out in your journal.

O is for Observation. This is where you observe what is being said. What was interesting about the verse? What did you learn? What did God reveal to you?

A is Application.  This is where you take what you have learned from the verse and try to find ways to apply it to your every day life.

P is for Prayer. This is where you respond to God through prayer. Use the verse as a guide. Ask Him to help you apply the verse to your life.

Below, I am sharing my SOAP of verse Philippians 4:6. I hope, once you see this in action, you will better understand what you need to do.

SOAP Philippians 4:6

S:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6 NIV

O:

I need not worry
He is always there to listen
He cares

A:

Don't worry
Pray
Offer thanks for everything
Turn cares over to the Lord

P:

Dear Father,

Thank You for always being there. Thank You for always being available to listen to my concerns, my worries. Father, please help me to remember that prayer is just a form of communication with you. Whenever I am worried about the what-if moments that might happen, help me to remember that You are there and that You care for me. I thank You for all that You have done for me. I ask for Your help in facing hard times. In Jesus' name, Amen.
