Your Story Matters

Do you live with self doubt? Do you ever feel unworthy?

"You do not belong."

"Nobody cares what you have to say."

"You are not wanted."

"You are not important."

"You are not worthy."

Sadly, I have told myself those things on more than one occasion in my life. However, as a Christian, I know that all of those statements are lies from satan. His only wish is to keep me focused on "self" instead of being focused on God.

What do you do when you start to feel bogged down with self doubt?

Overcome Self Doubt

1. Spend quiet time with Jesus.

Find a quiet place and just sit with Jesus. Allow Him this time to speak to you.

2. Look up verses that you can cling to.

Find a verse that speaks to you. Write it down on an index card and keep it with you.

3. Journal about a time that the Lord brought you through.

Reflect over your life. Pick out a time that the Lord helped you through. Good, bad, ugly; everything. This is your story.

4. Share your story with someone.

After you have written out your story, spend time praying over it. There is someone out there that needs to hear what you went through and how the Lord lead you through it. It will be scary to share it with them, but take a deep breath, and just go for it.

It is your story, share it. Remember that God helps us through certain things in our lives so we can then use our experiences to help others. No matter what your story may be, there is someone out there that needs to hear it.

Isaiah 41:10 NIV

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Dear Father, thank You for always being with me. Father, I confess that I listen to the lies of satan and worse, I often believe that they are true. Please help me not to be afraid or dismayed because You, my Lord are with me. You strengthen and help me and You uphold me with Your righteous right hand. Help me to remember, no matter what I face, You are with me. I am worthy. My story does matter. In Jesus' name, Amen.
