Faith Over Fear

What is your biggest fear? Is it trying something new? Having surgery? Letting others down? Disappointing God?

For me, right now, it is following where God is leading. I know that I have shared before about worrying that my blog is not good enough. I write because I feel Him leading me to share and then I worry that it isn't good enough. I worry that I do not have the right words or that my words are not coming out how He would like for them to. Or worse, I worry that I will have writer's block and not be able to share a thing.

Did you know that God is there with you, even in the smallest details of your day? He is your strength and He will never leave you. Better still, if He calls you to do something, He will prepare the way for you and never leave your side (Deuteronomy 31:8).

That last nugget, is one that I need to remember.  He is with me, He will prepare the way for me and He will never leave my side.

Five Ways To Choose Faith Over Fear

1. Seek out a quiet place.

Find a quiet place, away from chaos, and just sit with Jesus. ---> my image, is a porch swing overlooking a pond with birds and butterflies all around.

2. Pray.

Spend time in prayer. Prayer is conversation between you and the Father. He wants to know what is weighing on your heart.

3. Read.

Read the Bible and devotionals.

4. Journal.

Write down what the Lord reveals to you during your quiet time.

5. Ask.

Ask for His help and guidance. <--- this is where I ask Him for His words to flow through me.

1 John 4:18 NIV

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Dear Father,  thank You for always being with me. Thank You for loving me so much that I have no reason to live in fear. It is Your love for me that drives out fear. I take comfort in that knowledge, Father. Thank You so much. In Jesus' name, Amen.
