What struggles are you facing? Is your body "misbehaving"?
Life and times, since being diagnosed with Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency, is a constant struggle for me. Oh how I wish it were as simple as just taking this one pill and it would all be okay. Sorry, I just flashed to Lord of the Rings (haha).
I have to take hydrocortisone every day for the rest of my life. I have to take it in order to be able to function.
Since I have a tumor on my pituitary gland, nothing in my body functions the way that it is supposed to function any more. All of the hormones that are produced by the pituitary gland are no longer being produced, so I have to take medicine to try and make up for the lack that my body is feeling.
A "Misbehaving" Body
Last summer, I was experiencing something that I was certain was low blood sugar issues. I was having times that I was extremely hungry and had to eat "on time".
My endo ran some tests, but when everything came back normal, I decided to make some adjustments in how I take my medication. I was taking my hydrocortisone 4 times a day, now I only take it 3 times. It seems to help.
This summer, I have been struggling with heat exhaustion. Now whenever I leave, I make sure to carry a damp wash rag with me, along with bottled water and extra meds.
I am also dealing with dizzy spells. When I stand up and start to walk, I get really dizzy. I have to find the first available place to sit and well, sit. I don't know what it is. Is it vertigo? No idea. However, I feel like, whatever it is, being extremely hungry triggers it, being over heated triggers it.
This is my life and times right now. Living one day to the next, trying the best that I can to function with a "misbehaving " body. When I see my endo again, I will be talking to her about these dizzy spells to see what she says.
