Do you struggle with negativity? Do you have a hard time finding positive things to focus on?
I want you to do something for me. Close your eyes for a few minutes and think back over the past several days; the past week. As you do this, I want you to pay close attention to the things that your husband has done for you.
Today I thought we would spend some time being thankful for our husbands and all that they do for us.
I have been studying about marriage. The point to remember is that the Lord will work on you first. With that in mind, I have asked Him to give me new eyes to see Tim the way that He sees him. I have also asked for Him to help me see things about myself that I need to work on changing.
Here are some of the things that Tim has done for me recently that I am so thankful for:

Give Thanks For For He Is Good
Here are some of the things that Tim has done for me recently that I am so thankful for:
- He helps me in and out of the car. He has even made it a rule that I cannot touch a door if he is there (heehee).
- He holds my hand when we are out in public. This is a huge comfort to me because being in public is usually very overwhelming for me.
- He spoils me. Seriously, every time he goes to the store, he comes home with something specifically for me.
- He gladly opens things for me. Since having fibromyalgia, I do not have the strength in my hands that I used to, so trying to open things causes me pain. Most of the time, when I need something to be opened, I find that he has already done it; without being asked.
- He leaves work early, or works from home, so he can go with me to doctors appointments.
- He is considering putting a water feature in our backyard. Why? For the birds. (Haha) It is not something that I have asked for, but he has been looking at them.
- He put up a fence so we can let the dogs out to run. He has never wanted a fence before. However, he knows that they can be a bit of a handful for me. So now they have a place to run.
- He encourages my love of coffee. That is funny, but it is true. I even have the kitchen and dining area decorated with coffee things. Oh, and I have tons of coffee cups.

The Lord also reminds me to think of all things my husband does for me too. I just had this conversation with my sister today over coffee. It's the small things that truly makes you see the big picture of your marriage. Your list looks a lot like how mine would look! ;)
ReplyDeleteCarmen, thank You for your response. I love this, "It's the small things that truly makes you see the big picture of your marriage." That is so true. Thank you for your words.
