I Am Here With You

Are you facing an empty nest? Are you struggling with the aches and pains of life?

I think that in some way, we all struggle with the aches and pains of life. Yes? You may be entering the empty nest stage of your life and dealing with the feelings that are hitting you right now.

You are not alone.

Technically, we have not hit the empty nest, yet. Our youngest still lives with us. However, I know that it will not be much longer.

We have a child, Taylor, that is in Texas. He is finishing up his master's degree in civil engineering. His plan is to stay in Texas once he finishes with school. I have been trying to prepare myself for this.

He is already living his life as though his dad and I are an afterthought :(. He is not returning text messages or answering our calls. It is breaking my heart.

I know that my suffering, sadness, struggles are just for a season. The Lord is enough to carry me (and Taylor) through this time.

Below, you will find the original post that I shared in 2018.

Look For The God Moments

I recently shared about being struck by a thought. It was a God moment. As I was standing there helping Jacob with his hair, I thought "Okay Leigha, here is the moment you have always longed for; enjoy it."

No, things were not exactly the way I had always pictured them, but still, it was what I had wanted. I really enjoyed helping him with his hair. Thank You, Lord for providing that opportunity.

We all have seasons that we experience as we go throughout our lives. I am currently entering the empty nest phase. Along with that, I have been dealing with menopause as well. Can you say, "yay, for hot flashes?" Sorry, I do not mean to sound snarky.

I never had anyone talk to me about menopause or hot flashes, so I had no idea what to expect. I always thought it was funny to hear stories (maybe from comedians) where they would get so hot they stripped off all their clothes to cool down. Well, now I know that those were not exaggerations.

Maybe you are entering this season of life as well, or maybe you are a young mother; just know that you are not alone. I am here with you. Hold on to the Lord and He will guide you through.

Psalm 63:8 NIRV

I hold on to you tightly. Your powerful right hand takes good care of me.

Dear Father,

You promise that, no matter how I struggle, I can hold on to You. You also promise that Your powerful right hand will take good care of me. I am claiming these promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Just For A Time
